Importance of tyrosine phosphorylation for transmembrane signaling in plants

چکیده
Reversible protein phosphorylation is a widespread post-translational modification fundamental for signaling across all domains of life. Tyrosine (Tyr) has recently emerged as being important plant receptor kinase (RK)-mediated signaling, particularly during immunity. How Tyr regulates RK function however largely unknown. Notably, the expansion phosphatase and SH2 domain-containing families, which are core regulatory phospho-Tyr (pTyr) networks in choanozoans, did not occur plants. Here, we summarize current understanding focusing on critical role pTyr site (‘VIa-Tyr’) conserved several RKs. Furthermore, discuss possibility metazoan-like modules plants based atypical components with convergent biochemical functions.

Temporal Dynamics of Tyrosine Phosphorylation in Insulin Signaling Running title: Tyrosine phosphorylation in insulin signaling
The insulin signaling network regulates blood glucose levels, controls metabolism, and when dysregulated, may lead to the development of type 2 diabetes. Although the role of tyrosine phosphorylation in this network is clear, only a limited number of insulininduced tyrosine phosphorylation sites have been identified. To address this issue and establish temporal response, we have, for the first ...
متن کاملTyrosine phosphorylation of transmembrane ligands for Eph receptors.
Axonal pathfinding in the nervous system is mediated in part by cell-to-cell signaling events involving members of the Eph receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) family and their membrane-bound ligands. Genetic evidence suggests that transmembrane ligands may transduce signals in the developing embryo. The cytoplasmic domain of the transmembrane ligand Lerk2 became phosphorylated on tyrosine residues a...
متن کاملProtein tyrosine phosphorylation in T cell signaling.
This review discusses in considerable detail the tyrosine phosphorylation events that couple the T cell antigen receptor to downstream signaling pathways. First, the protein kinases that catalyze these tyrosine phosphorylation are introduced, then the phosphatases that mediate removal of phosphate from tyrosine residues. Next, we discuss the molecular clock work by which these enzymes initiated...
متن کاملTyrosine phosphorylation in plant cell signaling.
R protein phosphorylation is the most common mechanism for cellular regulation in eukaryotic systems. Studies have demonstrated that serine threonine phosphorylation plays a key role in the regulation of plant growth and development. On the other hand, tyrosine phosphorylation, despite its overwhelming importance in animals, has been largely neglected because a typical tyrosine kinase was not f...
متن کاملTyrosine Phosphorylation-Mediated Signaling Pathways in Dictyostelium
While studies on metazoan cell proliferation, cell differentiation, and cytokine signaling laid the foundation of the current paradigms of tyrosine kinase signaling, similar studies using lower eukaryotes have provided invaluable insight for the understanding of mammalian pathways, such as Wnt and STAT pathways. Dictyostelium is one of the leading lower eukaryotic model systems where stress-ind...
